Life is a journey full of beauty and unexpected challenges. It is during those difficult times when we may need additional support; someone to walk beside us along our journey and help us find the beauty of life again.
In my practice, I desire to create an environment where my clients feel supported, respected, free from judgment and free to explore their lives in potentially new ways. I specialize working with children, adolescents and adults who have experienced traumatic events including grief and loss, sexual abuse, physical abuse, domestic violence and family divorce. I am a client-centered therapist that works to integrate narrative and psychodynamic approaches in my practice. I am trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Accelerated Resolution Therapy. I use play therapy techniques when working with children, cognitive restructuring and empowerment models while maintaining a trauma informed approach. Kimberly's Psychology Today article. |
I believe that everyone has the power to change. I meet my clients where they are and strive to create a compassionate and safe environment to explore emotional experiences, feel stronger and more empowered and gain awareness that will help to guide in making new, more productive choices. Whether you are seeking therapy to heal past wounds or address current issues, we will work together to identify your goals and begin healing. My experience includes working with children, adolescents and families to solve problems associated with; grief and loss, abandonment, anxiety, self esteem, eating disorders, adjustment issues and LGBTQ+ youth. I am committed to assist youth that face a myriad of challenges such as isolation, alienation, depression and fear as they attempt to navigate their emerging awareness of their sexual and/or gender identity. I have been trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Accelerated Resolution Therapy as well as Adoption Competency. I use a cognitive- behavioral approach implementing mindfulness, and mind body approach to create specific strategies that promote increased self awareness and challenge negative thinking patterns. |

You have taken a step towards making necessary changes in
your life. Whether you desire to heal from a relationship or addiction becoming more authentic and vulnerable will expedite this recovery. To be free to love and be loved requires authentically loving ourselves. I dedicated a song by Lee Ann Womack to all my clients: “And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance, I hope you will dance.” With compassion, support and in a non-judgmental environment we will co-create your vision. I treat adolescents and adults specializing in grief including pet loss, self-esteem, boundary issues, sexual abuse, domestic violence, workplace issues, and Trauma/PTSD. I am a trained Certified Sex Addiction Therapist with a trauma focus, EFT(Emotional Freedom Technique; Tapping) and Certified Employee Assistance Professional with a workplace, crisis focused. I incorporate Imago therapy with Couple and family counseling, motivational interviewing with individuals, coaching and other techniques. |
Your life does not get better by chance; it gets better by change! Accepting change is the foundation for healing and growth.
My goal is to help clients identify underlying issues that are causing unhealthy stress responses while maintaining an environment that my clients can feel safe and supported while working through issues in their lives. My focus is building strong personal relationships for my clients by being empathic to their circumstances and modeling healthy relationships. I specialize working with infants/families, children, adolescents and adults providing parenting skills by using a Relationship approach. Most recently, I have mastered working with children ages 0-5 who have experienced at least one traumatic event and/or are experiencing mental health, attachment, and/or behavioral problems. I am highly skilled in working with an array of disorders including PTSD, anxiety and depressive disorders, ADD, ADHD and adjustment disorders. I have been trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), Circle of Security parent program (COS), Mindful Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and Gottman’s level-1 couples training. I use CPP and COS to work with infants/family, ages 0-5. My predominately therapeutic approach is CBT, with an eclectic approach as a whole to help with identifying meanings of behaviors and creating healthy coping strategies. |
