A little from Kim -
Life is a journey full of beauty and unexpected challenges. It is during those difficult times when we may need additional support; someone to walk beside us along our journey and help us find the beauty of life again. In my practice, I desire to create an environment where my clients feel supported, respected, free from judgment and free to explore their lives in potentially new ways. I specialize working with children, adolescents and adults who have experienced traumatic events including grief and loss, sexual abuse, physical abuse, domestic violence and family divorce. I am a client-centered therapist that works to integrate narrative and psychodynamic approaches in my practice. I am trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Accelerated Resolution Therapy. I use play therapy techniques when working with children, cognitive restructuring and empowerment models while maintaining a trauma informed approach. Kimberly's Psychology Today article. |
A bit from Deborah - I believe that everyone has the power to change. I meet my clients where they are and strive to create a compassionate and safe environment to explore emotional experiences, feel stronger and more empowered and gain awareness that will help to guide in making new, more productive choices. Whether you are seeking therapy to heal past wounds or address current issues, we will work together to identify your goals and begin healing. My counseling experience includes working with those navigating grief, loss and trauma, anxiety, self esteem, first responders and LGBTQ+ youth. I have been trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Mindful Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). I use a cognitive- behavioral approach implementing mindfulness, and mind body approach to create specific strategies that promote increased self awareness and challenge negative thinking patterns. I am now seeing clients in Old Seminole Heights, 6811 N Central Avenue, Tampa, FL 33604. |

Your life does not get better by chance; it gets better by change! Accepting change is the foundation for healing and growth. My goal is to help clients identify underlying issues that are causing unhealthy stress responses while maintaining an environment that my clients can feel safe and supported while working through issues in their lives. My focus is building strong personal relationships for my clients by being empathic to their circumstances and modeling healthy relationships. I specialize working with infants/families, children, adolescents and adults providing parenting skills by using a Relationship approach. Most recently, I have mastered working with children ages 0-5 who have experienced at least one traumatic event and/or are experiencing mental health, attachment, and/or behavioral problems. I am highly skilled in working with an array of disorders including PTSD, anxiety and depressive disorders, ADD, ADHD and adjustment disorders. I have been trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), Circle of Security parent program (COS), Mindful Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and Gottman’s level-1 couples training. I use CPP and COS to work with infants/family, ages 0-5. My predominately therapeutic approach is CBT, with an eclectic approach as a whole to help with identifying meanings of behaviors and creating healthy coping strategies. |

Asking for help is one of the most critical steps in your journey towards wellbeing. I strive to help through this journey by creating a safe, open, and supportive environment. I am a bilingual therapist with over 15 years of experience. Together, we will explore challenges that may include past and present experiences impacting your life today. The process intends to bring ease, develop awareness, and create effective change.
My experience includes working with children, teenagers, and adults who have experienced traumatic and stressful experiences, problems associated with self-esteem, adjustment issues, anxiety, and stress. I am certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy, Child-Parent Psychotherapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I incorporate a cognitive behavioral approach to help work on thinking patterns and behaviors and incorporate trauma-informed approaches. In our first session I work towards building a connection, gaining understanding of your needs, and collaboratively coming up with goals to move forward in the therapeutic process. In addition to my approaches mentioned above, my approach is also influenced by being a 500hr Yoga Teacher in incorporating mindfulness tools and the importance of the mind-body connection. I am determined to work together in addressing your concerns and taking steps to a fulfilling and purposeful life. |
